Georgia may be a small country, but it has an ancient and rich culture. There are three writing systems in Georgia – Asomtavruli, Nuskhuri and Mkhedruli – and so it is a particular pleasure that the country is participating in the GRANSHAN Type Design Competition for the first time. Georgian Script Chair Nino Jishkariani knows that it is a great challenge to design text fonts in particular in such a way that they are easy to read and harmonize with Latin fonts.
Nino Jishkariani is a graphic designer, artist and author of several books, founder and president of the Association Georgian Font, and she has been a professor of Type and Ornament. In the 13th GRANSHAN Type Design Competition, she was the Georgian Script Chair.
