Description of the Typeface by the Submitter

Groteskly Yours Studio is a family-owned digital type foundry specializing in designing retail and custom typefaces. The studio's main focus is on creating cutting-edge designs and delivering exceptional tools for creatives across a wide range of industries and fields. Our design philosophy is built on the premise that retail typefaces should be versatile, reliable, and easy to use. In our work, we combine innovative design, high quality, and user-friendly features. Since 2019, we have worked as a duo and collaborated on all projects. As a studio, above all, we value openness and collaboration and are always happy to learn something new from each project we work on. Resist Mono is a standalone monospaced family in 14 styles designed in 2022. Originally, the project was conceived as a monospaced companion for an existing typeface released by GYS earlier. However, early on in the development, we recognized that it would make more sense to release Resist Mono as a separate project. In Resist Mono, we tried to balance functionality and creativity so that it can be used easily by designers and developers alike. Designers will discover a wide range of styles and a variable font to fine-tune their designs, while developers will appreciate the increased legibility of upright styles and the unique letterforms of italics that make code easier to handle. Resist Mono supports all major Latin-based languages as well as Vietnamese and features Extended Cyrillic support, including region-specific letterforms for Bulgarian and Serbian languages. Additionally, there are Powerline symbols for coding and various miscellaneous characters. Resist Mono supports Small Capitals and a number of other OpenType features, such as Case-Sensitive Punctuation, Fractions, Localized Forms, as well as many others. With over 1300 characters in each font, Resist Mono is an excellent tool for designers and developers who require a fresh typeface with a strong and rebellious character.
