Description of the Typeface by the Submitter

Nocturno Georgian is an extension of Typotheque's existing multiscript text typeface. Currently, the type family encompasses Latin, Georgian, and Cyrillic scripts. Nocturno Georgian is an unapologetically calligraphic typeface, drawing strong inspiration from the Georgian calligraphic tradition. This influence is particularly evident in the Italic style, where alternate shapes for specific letters mirror the fluid strokes found in fast-paced writing. Nocturno Georgian harmonizes seamlessly in a multiscript setting, maintaining the same optical size and texture as other scripts while respecting the proportions inherent to the Georgian script. To accommodate the small counters, both ascenders and descenders are slightly longer, resulting in a typeface that is ideal for extended reading. This design ensures superb legibility, and with four finely tuned weights, it allows for the creation of clear text hierarchies.
