Jinhua Serif is inspired by the charms and nuances of a woodblock print from the Republican Era. Its slightly short look comes with relaxed counter and gentle, defined strokes full of articulated details. The overall quality Jinhua Mincho aims to offer is a classic, cordial feeling without the old-time, clichéd overtones that a woodblock usually carries. It is simple, unpretentious, yet incisive and powerful. If set horizontally, the well-leveled font slows down the reading, giving it a calm and paced rhythm; a vertical arrangement would render the text columns compact, elegant and well-proportioned.
