Remarks of the Jury
The Latin type is based upon a sign for the Willow Tea Room in Glasgow designed by Mackintosh. Mackintosh's work is in the style of the Arts and Crafts movement, and he was a major proponent of the Art Nouveau movement in Britain. He also recognised the austerity and frugality of the Japonisme. This typeface is an attempt to match Mackintosh's Latin typeface, which is once again associated with Eastern aesthetics, with a high centre of gravity and a very dramatic, bold design. But after all, Hanzi have a lot of strokes, which sometimes sacrifices some of the aesthetics, and it's a pity that this typeface doesn't have a character set listed and we don't see more shapes.
