Description of the Typeface by the Submitter
The typeface is a system of two fixed-width families—Mono and Trio—that operate at the intersection of pragmatism and mischief. While the Mono family takes the classical monospace approach with one fixed width, the Trio works with three fixed widths to make a mockery of “legitimate” proportional designs. The fonts construction is based on a compact Neo Grotesque accented with generous spacing and a broken-curves design—deliberate rough changes of direction—that stands out used big, but blends in set small. With its wide range of weights, from Extralight to Extrabold, and not just one but two corresponding 16° angled versions—an Italic and a Slanted—the typeface can set the mood, whatever it may be. With more than 820 glyphs per style and native-approved Cyrillic the font speaks more than 270 languages. Plus, it is packed with a handful of useful alternates, advantageous arrows, figures, case-sensitive punctuation and contextual alternates to make it a tool for all typographic needs.
